<div>Registration must be postmarked by <strong>Thursday, April 5, 2012</strong>.  Fee includes tuition, conference materials, continental breakfast, snacks and certificates of attendance.  Lunch is available for an additional $10 per person.</div>

Dohtery is an educatior, researcher, therapist, speaker, author, consultant, community organizer, and the Director of the <em>Minnesota Couples on the Brink Project</em> at the University of Minnesota.</p>
<p>Dr. Doherty is a licensed marriage and family therapist, psychologist, and clinical member, fellow and approved supervisor for the American Association for Mrriage and Family Therapy.  He received his Ph.D. in family studies from the University of Connecticut in 1978 and has served on the faculty of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Iowa and the University of Oklahoma before coming to the University of Minnesota in 1986.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Doherty is a sought-after speaker for both therapist and lay audiences.  He works with families, professionals and the media, including the &#8220;Oprah&#8221; and &#8220;Today&#8221; shows as well as <em>The New York Times</em> and <em>Wall Street Journal</em>.  He is the author of 12 books on families and family therapy, including &#8220;Soul Searcing&#8221;, &#8220;Take Back Your Marriage&#8221;, and &#8220;Take Back Your Kids&#8221;.</p>
<p>He is past president of the National Council on Family Relations, the nation&#8217;s oldest interdisciplinary family studies organization.  his awards include the <em>Significant Contribution to the Field of Marriage and Family Therapy Award</em>, the <em>Margaraet E. Arcus Award for outstanding Contribution to Family Life Education</em>, and the <em>Outstanding Community Service Award</em> from the University of Minnesota.</p>
<p>Since 1999, Dr. Doherty has been developing and leading the <em>Families and Democracy Project</em> and the C<em>itizen Health Care Project</em>, a community organizing approach to working with families and promoting cultural change.</p>
